At The Jackson Laboratory since 1995, I got my feet wet in Animal Care before spending 22 years in the laboratory of Dr. Derry Roopenian. My role there emphasized complex mouse breeding; a variety of observational assays; PCR and other genetic assays; and project conceptualization and management skills to identify genotype-phenotype correlations across a variety of disease models including lupus, arthritis, neurovascular disease, and epidermolysis bullosa.

Since joining Dr. Vivek Kumar’s lab in early 2019 I have applied many of the same skills, particularly organization and execution of observational assays, project management, genotyping and QTL analysis to sleep studies, cocaine response and other behavioral assays.
